Holotype definition

Holotype is a light-strategy, worker placement game for 2-5 players.  In the game, players further the field of Paleontology by collecting fossils, conducting research, and publishing their findings in scientific journals.  It is a fast-paced and easy-to-learn game that still has enough complexity to keep the most strategic board gamers engaged.

Every round, players use their workers, a Field Assistant, a Graduate Student, and a Paleontologist to perform various actions.  Even though worker placement spaces are limited, players can strategically “bump” other workers from occupied spaces based on a hierarchy system.  Bumped workers become available to opponents to be used on following turns, so placement and timing can be important.

The player who has the most victory points from publishing Holotypes, contributing to Global Objectives, and achieving their secret Personal Objective is declared the winner.
